Katori Jingu Shrine

The Katori Jingu Shrine is dedicated to the god of war, Kyotsu-no-Mikoto, with whom the Emperor of Japan discussed the handover of the country at the time of the descent of the grandchildren. The shrine was founded in the 18th year of the Emperor Jinmu’s reign. The mirror of the sea beasts and grapes is a national treasure. The main shrine and the nerumon gate are national important cultural properties.
